The Event Starts In:
2018 Theme – “Thriving in a Smart World of Disruption !”
Harare, Zimbabwe will host the inaugural edition of the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) Markets Africa Conference & Expo, where leaders from the TMT sectors will gather to discover and explore some of the most cutting-edge solutions across the TMT landscape; from customer experience to business transformation, robotics to Artificial Intelligence (AI). How can Big Data lower the cost of regulatory compliance? Technology is quietly but radically disrupting and transforming how cities deliver services to their citizens. It does that in a way that fundamentally alters not just the mode of delivery but underlying economics and financing.
These represent a range of dynamic industry sectors which are experiencing many common opportunities and challenges caused by technological change, deregulation and convergence. The 4th industrial revolution is here, and businesses must disrupt or be disrupted. The race is on to be the first mover in each sector to create the leading businesses of tomorrow.
The technology, media and entertainment, and telecommunications ecosystem remains as fascinating as ever in 2018. Will augmented reality become mainstream? The conference invites you to get insight into transformation and growth opportunities over the next one to five years. In a sector defined by fast growth and innovation, technology providers are looking to address the opportunities and business model challenges that will define their short- and long-term futures. In the business models of the future, “value will be created at the nodes of where industries converge”.
The past decade has brought an explosion of new technologies, mobile devices, content and channels which, in turn, has driven exponential growth and new demand. At the same time, shrinking margins and rising costs – combined with new compliance, regulatory and sustainability requirements – have fundamentally changed the business model for some TMT participants. In this model, a world around convergence, “do you compete, or collaborate to compete?
Media companies are finding content creation, aggregation, and distribution—their fundamental ecosystem—ever-evolving and morphing as new technologies come into play that disrupt traditional business models. From interactive broadcasting films, broadcast television, and print and publishing to live entertainment, social media, and advertising, Media businesses live or die based on how well they identify and manage trends.
